Hemi Hip Arthoplatsy (HemiCAP)
Nowadays, in special cases with femoral head cartilage defects, a Hemi Hip Arthrosplasty can be executed. This part crowning only overlaids the damaged part which is why a full acticity is possible afterwards (Figure 1).
Figure 1: Local defect treatment with a Hemi Hip ArthrosplastyPrerequisite for such an operation are clinical and further diagnostic measures (e.g. x-ray , MRI) which make it possible to estimate the extent of the damage.HemiCAPs can be implanted minimally invasive which is why the patients can leave the hospital after a few days. After the procedure the patients are allowed to mobilize their joint during full load and are released into a follow-up treatment.
